Navigating the Challenges of Shooting in Venice
Shooting in Venice can be a challenge due to the crowds of tourists that flood the city’s streets and squares every day.
To capture the true essence of Venice without the distractions of crowds, early morning shoots are often the best solution.
This allows for intimate moments and stunning backdrops without the hustle and bustle of the day.
For Ines and Miles, their Venice elopement began early in the morning in a serene and nearly empty St. Mark’s Square, Piazza San Marco.
The quietness of the early hours allowed for a peaceful and romantic atmosphere, perfect for capturing their love story against the backdrop of this iconic location.
MY HIGHLIGHTS
To fully immerse in the Venetian experience and be ready for the early morning shoot, I rented a typical apartment in the heart of a Venetian ghetto. This decision not only provided a convenient location but also offered a glimpse into the authentic Venetian way of life. It was a fantastic “life experience” to live within the ancient walls of this historic city, adding depth and authenticity to the entire photography session.
The day of the elopement dawned with promise as I met Ines and Miles in the quiet St. Mark’s Square. As we strolled through the empty streets, capturing their laughter, love, and connection, the beauty of Venice served as a stunning backdrop to their intimate moments.
Despite the unpredictable weather, every photograph taken that day encapsulated the essence of their love story.
